Bellator 241: Scott Coker postpones show with hours to go before bell time

The COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic has postponed Bellator 241.

After initially declaring that the fights would continue in an empty arena, president Scott Coker confirmed Friday that the event has now been postponed due to COVID-19.

Bellator also scored major brownie points by compensating all fighters (show money), officials, judges, cutmen, and event personnel, commenting that “Next to everyone’s health and safety, this was our biggest priority.”

The postponement comes as Governor Ted Lamont declared a state public health emergency.on Tuesday and signed an executive order that banned public gatherings in excess of 250 people.

COVID-19 Coronavirus has shut down most professional sports leagues, including the NBA, NCAA, MLS, and NHL.

Refunds are available for ticketholders at their original point of purchase.
