Former UFC fighter Sam Stout and wife Jessie recently announced the death of their daughter Sydney Love Stout, who passed away after only one month.

“Most of you already know that we lost Sydney Love Stout in her sleep the night before last,” Stout said in an Instagram post. “We tried to save her, but it was too late. The last month with her was the best month of my life, and this is now the worst time of my life … it still doesn’t feel real.

“Jessie (Stout’s wife) and I haven’t let go of each other since yesterday and we will continue to hold on to one other for the rest of our lives. We will be eternally scared from this,” Stout added. “We appreciate all the love we have already received from the people around us. We Love you Sydney bean.”

A GoFundMe account was set up Monday with a goal of $5,000, but donations have poured in with over $31,000 donated as of this writing.

The Stouts have a 6-year-old daughter named Logan.

Stout, 36, hails from London, Ontario and debuted professionally in June 2003. He competed in the UFC from January 2008 to August 2015, amassing an overall record of 20-12-1.

He is also the co-owner of Adrenaline MMA in his hometown.
