Crossfire Vault – Jon Jones puts a chokehold on Dana White’s Francis Ngannou negotiation claims
The UFC light heavyweight champion, irked by White’s recent comments at the UFC on ESPN 9 over the weekend, said today on Twitter that he will vacate the belt and take a sabbatical until the UFC pays him what he is worth.

#ESPN Reyes vs Jan For the UFC light heavyweight championship of the world. As of right now, I got nothing to really gain fighting either of them. Let me know if you guys want to set up a day in 2021 for that Izzy fight. Hopefully you guys will be willing to pay by then.

I’d probably make more in my first boxing match than my next three UFC fights combined. There’s real estate, acting, just kicking it and being a dad. No one needs to put up with Dana‘s lies https://t.co/YKYKhqfR47

The UFC or White has not officially confirmed that the light heavyweight belt is now vacant.
White claimed earlier that Jones was asking for “Deontay Wilder type money” for a heavyweight fight with Francis Ngannou. Over the weekend, White also pointed to his issues outside of cage as preventing him from being the LeBron James of MMA. Jones denied the claim, accused White of lying and then dared him to have lawyer Hunter Campbell release texts of the conversation.
Jones suggested that Dominick Reyes and Jan Blachowicz compete for the belt.
The ball is now in White’s court.
