Tim Sylvia launches $20K GoFundMe campaign to fix complications from broken arm

"The screws are backing out from my arm break."

Remember the broken arm Tim Sylvia (31-10-0, 1NC) sustained back in 2004 at UFC 48 against Frank Mir? Well, the arm needs some attention again – and fast.

The former two-time UFC heavyweight champion explained on his Instagram account that “the screws are backing out from my arm break.” and that the UFC told him “It’s not (their) problem and will not cover it.”

There appears to be an infection present in the instagram image Sylvia provided.

‘I don’t have insurance and it’s going to cost well over 10,000 dollars to get fixed,” Sylvia added. “Any thoughts on what i should do?”

GoFundMe campaign was launched for Sylvia , 44, to raise USD $20,000 USD for surgery. As of this writing, over $2,400 has been raised. He retired from mixed martial arts in 2015.

Dana White was asked by reporters about Sylvia today at a UFC 250 media scrum and said that this “was the first I’ve heard of it.”
