Charles Byrd (10-7-0) announced after his UFC 250 loss to Maki Pitolo that he is retiring from mixed martial arts.

Byrd, 36, issued a statement on Facebook not long after the bout, explaining that he had no excuses for the loss and that he ready to move on.

Byrd made his professional debut in April 2009. He made his way into the UFC in 2018, after appearing on the Dana White Contender Series a year earlier.
