The UFC is back in Las Vegas this weekend as middleweights Derek Brunson and Edmen Shahbazayan square off in the main event.
UFC president Dana White said some interesting things about the Dan Hardy – Herb Dean confrontation at his press conference earlier today.
Kenai Andrews checks in with his thoughts on the main card.
MAIN CARD (9PM ET/6PM PT)
KEVIN HOLLAND (17-5-0) VS. TREVIN GILLES (12-2-0)
Andrews: Close fight on paper. Have to go with the experience of Holland, who has fought tougher fighters.
Andrews Prediction: Kevin Holland via UDÂ
LANDO VANETTA (11-4-2) BOBBY GREEN (25-10-1)
Andrews: Vanetta has improved his gas tank and I think he can pile up some points on Green if he sticks and moves.
Andrews Prediction: Lando Vanetta via UD
#11 RANDY BROWN (12-3-0) VS. VICENTE LUQUE (18-7-1)
Andrews: Luque has the power to put Brown to sleep, but Brown has the footwork to play keep away. I think Luque eventually catches Brown though.
Andrews Prediction: Vicente Luque via TKO
#3 JOANNE CALDERWOOD (14-4-0) VS. #6 JENNIFER MAIA (17-5-1)
Andrews: Two Invicta fighters here. Can Calderwood establish her Muay Thai and stuff the takedowns and grappling of Maia? Tough call, but since Calderwood has more experience in the UFC, I am going with JoJo.
Andrews Prediction: Joanne Calderwood via UD
MAIN EVENT
#8 DEREK BRUNSON (20-7-0) VS. #9 EDMEN SHAHBAZYAN (11-0-0)
Andrews: It should be another impressive performance for Edmen after a tense first round for Brunson.
Andrews Prediction: Edmen Shahbazyan via TKO
