Myanmar-based organization World Lethwei Championship returns to acton Aug. 28 with an inaugural female bantamweight world title bout main event.
Souris Manderai (2-0-0) of France will take on former WBO Muay Thai title challenger and Spaniard Maisha Katz (0-0-0) in the main event of the evening. Meanwhile, in the co-main event, hometown hero So Mi Luktupfah welcomes former Max FC kickboxing champion Artur Te of Korea and Uzbekistan in a bantamweight contest.
“We are excited to announce the return of world-class lethwei action on 28 August,” WLC chairman Zay Thiha said in a press release. “With our new broadcast partners, for the first time ever, World Lethwei Championship will be available in more than 100 countries. I am also very excited to crown the first ever female lethwei world champion in history! Both female athletes are the best in the world and to be able to showcase female athletes in lethwei is one of our organizational goals!”
WLC: Hideout Battle will air Aug. 28 on UFC Fight Pass, Canal+ and other broadcast partners beginning at 6:30 p.m. local time.
