The beginning of a new era in the light heavyweight division begins at UFC 253 in September.
UFC president Dana White confirmed today on ESPN SportsCenter that No. 1 Dominic Reyes (12-1-0) and No. 3 Jan Blachowicz (26-8-0) will battle for the light heavyweight title vacated Monday by Jon Jones.
Reyes lost a controversial decision to Jones at UFC 247 in February. Meanwhile, Blachowicz is armed with a three fight win streak, having dispatched Corey Anderson, Luke Rockhold, and Ronaldo Souza.
