Pedro Munhoz has an opportunity to defeat a surefire hall of famer in Frankie Edgar tonight in Las Vegas at UFC on ESPN 15.
Both fighters made weight and are ready to go.
Kenai Andrews checks in with his thoughts on the main card.
MAIN CARD (8:30PM ET/5:30PM PT)
DANIEL RODRIGUEZ (12-1-0) VS. DWIGHT GRANT (10-2-0)
Andrews: A good fight. Grant has fought better competition, but Rodriguez has a good finish rate. It will be close, but Grant’s experience should pay off in a narrow decision.
Andrews Prediction: Dwight Grant via SD
MARIYA AGAPOVA (9-1-0) VS. SHAYNA DOBSON (3-4-0)
Andrews: Agapova impressively took out Hannah Cifers in her last bout and looks poised to do the same with Dobson, who is struggling right now. As long as she doesn’t underestimate Dobson, she should win.
Andrews Prediction: Mariya Agapova via TKO
MARCIN PRACHINO (13-4-0) VS. MIKE RODRIGUEZ (10-4-0, 1NC)
Andrews: Both guys need a win. Have to go with Prachino to overcome some early trouble to finish it.
Andrews Prediction: Marcin Prachino via TKO
OVINCE ST. PREUX (24-14-0) VS. ALONZO MENIFIELD (9-1-0)
Andrews: OSP is 2-4-0 in his last six fights. He is not consistent, but when motivated, he can still win. Menifield is up-and-coming. OSP should win, if he shows up.
Andrews Prediction: Ovince St Preux via submission
MAIN EVENT
#5 PEDRO MUNHOZ (18-4-0) VS. FRANKIE EDGAR (23-8-1)
Andrews:Â Edgar is 15 years into the game and is now dropping down to bantamweight. I think Munhoz will have the advantage and will use it to grind out a decision win over the former champion.
Andrews Prediction: Pedro Munhoz via UD
