‘UFC 1: Origins’ film retraces the saga of the first UFC event

The story of the UFC’s first event in Denver, Colorado and how it launched a combat sports juggernaut is being retold in a new film called UFC 1: Origins.

From the producers of The Last Dance, UFC 1: Origins retraces the main players behind the formation of the UFC and its first event in Denver.

Directed by Mason Gordon and produced by Mike Tolin, Jon Weinbach, and Josh Oshinsky, the film features UFC co-founders Rorion Gracie, Art Davie, former owner Bob Meyrowirz, with commentary from pivotal fighters like Ken Shamrock, Art Jimmerson, Zane Frazier, Kevin Rosier, Kathy Long, and more.

UFC 1: Origins is scheduled to be released on VOD Oct. 16. There is also a special live premiere event on Oct. 14 at 8 p.m.  ET /5 p.m. PT.
