Souris Manfredi voted World Lethwei Championship’s 2020 Women’s Fighter of the Year

Bantamweight champion Souris Manfredi was voted the 2020 Women’s Fighter of the Year in the World Lethwei Championship’s fan-based World Lethwei Awards.

The awards were voted online by fans from last Dec. 1 to Dec. 20. The results were announced Friday.

Manfredi was also voted along with opponent Maisha Katz in the company’s Fight of the Year for their history-making inaugural bantamweight title bout at WLC: Hideout Battle last August.

“I would like to thank everyone for voting for my fight and I hope I can get into the ring again soon,” Katz said to MMA Crossfire from her residence in Thailand. “At the moment I am taking a break but soon there will be an update of the change I am making.”

Manfredi also collected Knockout of the Year, for stopping Katz in the bout. Her trainer, Charlton Lookyamo, was voted Coach of the Year.

WLC world heavyweight champion Antonio Faria was voted Fighter of the Year for his come-from-behind victory over Jose Francisco Vinuelas at WLC 13: Lethwei Showcase in September 2020.
