PFL adds Tim Clyne, Jon Werther, to executive team

Can the PFL put more boots on the ground internationally?

The PFL bolstered its executive team with two new additions today.

Tim Clyne is the company’s new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), overseeing all financial activities. He comes equipped with twenty years from the media, entertainment, and lifestyle industries, including Ion Media Networks, where he was the CFO and managed its sale to the E.W. Scripps Company.

“I am thrilled to join such a forward-thinking and innovative organization like the Professional Fighters League,” Clyne said in a press release. “The PFL has an ambitious global growth strategy as the No. 2 MMA league and I’m excited to be part of this high performing team that continues to disrupt the sports space.”

Jon Werther will serve as the executive vice president of strategic partnerships and new business. His primary duties are to lead international expansion efforts and business objectives.

“The PFL is positioned for aggressive international expansion and revenue diversification,” Werther added. “I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to develop new business, and to capitalize on PFL’s market position, IP and assets. I’m looking forward to working with my new colleagues and business partners.”

“As a global and innovative league, PFL continues to be a disruptor and we are thrilled to expand the team by bringing in two experienced executives like Jon and Tim,” PFL CEO Peter Murray said. “They will bring their expertise and leadership to amplify the next phase of growth for the PFL and I look forward to working with them.”

The PFL’s 2021 season begins on April 23 on ESPN2, ESPN Deportes and live streamed on ESPN+ in primetime. The regular season events are scheduled for April 29, May 6, June 10, June 17, and June 25.
