UFC Vegas 21: Edwards vs. Muhammad predictions

Can Muhammad shock the world?

The UFC is back at The Apex in Las Vegas as welterweights Leon Edwards and late replacement Belal Muhammad throw down in the main event.

It’s no secret that Muhammad has an excellent opportunity to leapfrog into the top 5 with a big win. We’re sure Edwards has other ideas.

Kenai Andrews checks in with his thoughts on the main card.

MAIN CARD (8PM ET/5PM PT)

ERYK ANDERS (13-5-0) VS. DARREN STEWART (12-6-0, 1NC)

UFC Vegas 21

Andrews: Both guys need a big win. Anders seems to have trouble when moving up in opponent and he barely got the decision in his last fight. Stewart gets the decision.

Andrews Prediction: Darren Stewart via UD

MANUEL KAPE (15-5-0) VS. MATHEUS NICOLAU (15-2-1)

UFC Vegas 21

Andrews: Kape is fighting on short notice. Advantage: Nicolau.

Andrews Prediction: Matheus Nicolau via UD

DAVEY GRANT (12-4-0) VS. JONATHAN MARTINEZ (13-3-0)

 UFC Vegas 21

Andrews: I have to go with Jonathan Martinez off his last performance.

Andrews Prediction: Darren Stewart via UD

DAN IGE (14-3-0) VS. GAVIN TUCKER (13-1-0)

UFC Vegas 21

Andrews: Tucker is taking this on short notice, but I like him to steal this one from Ige, who was overmatched in his last bout with Kattar. Tucker’s style and aggressiveness should seal this one.

Andrews Prediction: Gavin Tucker via UD

MISHA CIRKUNOV (15-5-0) VS. RYAN SPANN (18-6-0)

Andrews: Misha had an amazing performance beating Crute. Despite being the smaller fighter, I think he can avoid the big shots and find a way to get the fight to the ground and tap Spann.

Andrews Prediction: Misha Cirkunov via submission

MAIN EVENT

LEON EDWARDS (18-3-0) VS. BELAL MUHAMMAD (18-3-0)

Andrews: It takes a lot to pile up the points on a pressure guy like Muhammad, but I think Edwards is capable. Keep the fight standing and use your striking. Edwards gets it done after some early trouble.

Andrews Prediction: Leon Edwards via UD
