PFL puts more boots on the ground in Brazil via exclusive partnership with media giant Globo

Deal should bolster the PFL's South American presence

The PFL is teaming up with Brazil’s top media company Globo, just in time for the 2021 season.

The exclusive partnership deal will see Globo’s Combate Network exclusively provide the PFL’s 2021 regular season, playoffs, and championship bouts in Brazil.

This means each of  the PFL’s league live events can be viewed through the various Combate platforms (pay tv channel, website, apps, and social networks).

“I am pleased to announce Brazil’s number one media company, Globo, will be the home of the PFL’s 2021 Regular Season, Playoffs and Championship events starting April 23,” PFL CEO Peter Murray said in a press release. “MMA fans in Brazil can watch the PFL’s season long action and witness the journeys of the best fighters on the planet including Brazil’s GOAT heavyweight, Fabricio Werdum, and returning PFL two-time lightweight champion, Natan Schulte.”

“Our goal is to offer the best of combat sports’ world to the passionate Brazilian audience,” Head of Combat Sports and Combate Channel Rafael Gruenbaum added. “The Professional Fighters League enhances our portfolio and makes us very excited with the opportunity to offer great content to millions of Brazilian fans which will surely engage with the competition and support the athletes,”

The PFL’s 2021 season begins on April 23 on ESPN2, ESPN Deportes and live streamed on ESPN+ in primetime. The regular season events are scheduled for April 29, May 6, June 10, June 17, and June 25.
