The old veteran overcame the young gun in the women’s flyweight gold medal final in Tokyo and in the process, made history.
Bulgaria’s Stoyka Zhelyazkova Krasteva, 35, defeated her 25-year-old opponent Buse Naz Cakiroglu of Turkey to secure Bulgaria’s first boxing medal since 1996 with a 5-0 score from the judges.
Krasteva is the first Bulgarian female boxer to win gold.

Stoyka finished fifth previously in the 2012 Games in London and did not compete in the 2016 Games in Rio. On Saturday, she used power combination shots edge out the the charging Cakiroglu in the later rounds.
