Jake Paul vs. Tyron Woodley turns personal after press conference altercation with “Mama Woodley”

It's definitely personal now

The pre-fight press conference between Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley narrowly avoided escalating into a brawl at the Staples Center.

Both Paul and Woodley spoke their piece in what most considered a straightforward press conference, but after an hour or so, the two were paired for face-offs when a member of Paul’s entourage verbally taunted Woodley’s mother who returned fire and things quickly de-escalated.

Woodley, a former UFC welterweight champion, had to be physically restrained and could be heard demanding an apology.

Both Woodley and Paul’s teams joined the shouting match before security finally took control before anything went physical.

But there is no debating that the bout is personal now.

Fans can watch the bout on Showtime pay-per-view on Sunday Aug. 29 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
