Frankie Edgar will return at UFC 268 to take on Marlon Vera at Madison Square Garden in New York, according to a tweet by ESPN and an Edgar Instagram post.
Edgar (24-9-1), 39, will be 40 years old by the time the bout takes place, which is Nov. 6. He will be looking to atone for the stunning 28-second flying knee loss to Corey Sandhagen and protect his No. 8 bantamweight ranking.
Meanwhile, Vera (17-7-1), 28, has won two of his last three fights and can break into the top 10 with a big win. He is currently No. 13 in the division.
The UFC has not yet officially confirmed the bout.
UFC 268 is scheduled for Nov. 6 at Madison Square Garden. Current bouts include:
