UFC Vegas 37: Smith vs. Spann predictions

The UFC returns to the Apex tonight as light heavyweights Anthony Smith and Ryan Spann compete in the main event.

Kenai Andrews checks in with his thoughts on the main card.

UFC Vegas 37

Andrews: Buckley is looking to atone for his last fight and I think he does. Didn’t even shake Arroyo’s hand at the weigh-ins.

Andrews Prediction: JoaquinΒ Buckley via TKO

NATE MANESS (13-1-0) VS. TONY GRAVELY (21-6-0)

UFC Vegas 37

Andrews: Tough one to call. Maness can strike but Gravely has power. Gravely is suspectible to submissions but Maness doesn’t have a lot of submission wins. I think this one stays on the ground for the most part with ManessΒ eking out a decision.

Andrews Prediction: Nate Maness via UD

UFC Vegas 37

Andrews: Tsarukyan has fought better competition aside from Charles Oliveira, who Giagos fought and lost to. Have to go with Arman.

Andrews Prediction: Arman Tsarukyan via UD

ARIANE LIPSKI (13-7-0) VS. MANDY BOHN (7-0-0, 1NC)

UFC Vegas 37

Andrews: Bohn is undefeated but is making her debut against a UFC vet who is struggling. Tough call but I will go with octagon experience and take Lipski.

Andrews Prediction: Ariane Lipski via TKO

ION CUTELABA (15-6-1, 1NC) VS. DEVIN CLARK (12-5-0)

Andrews:Β Cutelaba always looks like a beast at the weigh-ins but as of late peters out in the cage. Clark will need to use some smarts to avoid the power and get his shots in while avoiding the ground.

Andrews Prediction: Devin Clark via UD

#6 ANTHONY SMITH (35-16-0) VS. #11 RYAN SPANN (19-6-0)

Andrews: I wouldn’t be surprised if Spann finished the fight with his striking but I think the experience of Smith gets the fight to the ground where he gets the submission.

Andrews Prediction: Anthony Smith via submission
