The bad blood between UFC president Dana White and Golden Boy Promotions CEO and former boxer Oscar De La Hoya continues.
White sounded off on De La Hoya at the DWCS post-fight press conference after exchanging critical tweets from the “Golden Boy” targeting champion Alexander Volkanovski and his recent fight at UFC 266.
That’s all you got @danawhite ? You’re accusing me of FAKING a virus that killed almost 700,000 Americans to avoid a fight?? You pathetic piece of shit you’ve never even laced up the gloves. And you completely ignored my original point I made about UNDERPAYING YOUR FIGHTERS

Hey @alexvolkanovski you just won a brutal battle for @ufc and made 1/20 of what you’re worth. @danawhite have some fucking respect for yourself and these fighters and pay these warriors what they deserve

“He’s a liar and many other things, and I can’t tell you – maybe you can tell – how much I despise this human being, but that’s the only reason that I’m even f*cking doing this,” White said to reporters. “This is it. This is the last time. I’m not going at it again.”
White revealed a copy of a 2018 Golden Boy Promotions Chuck Liddell vs. Tito Ortiz III event that according to White paid Ortiz 1/12th and Liddell 1/10th of the amounts of their last fights in the UFC.
With respect to Volkanovski and according to White, a June 9, 2021 De La Hoya boxing card with 18 fighters totalled $36,500 with an average purse of $2,000 USD. White said “Before we paid $1 in purse money, Volkanovski got paid more to wear his Venum kit, than Oscar De La Hoya paid the entire f*cking fight card.”
Asked to comment on the current percentage of revenues allocated to the fighters, White declined to answer. “It’s none of your business.” He did say that the fighters can reveal what they make as there is no gag order and that fighter pay has “gone through the roof” over the last couple of years.
