Shields (1-0-0) will try to collect her second MMA victory when she faces Abigail Montes (2-0-0) at the PFL Season 2021 Finals event on Wednesday Oct. 27.

After a rough second round in which Shields was controlled on the ground for larger stretches by opponent Brittney Elkin, she rebounded in the final frame to collect a third-round TKO finish in her debut at PFL 4 in June.

Training with Holly Holm and the Jackson-Winkeljohn gym in Albuquerque Gym in Arizona, Shields is expected to show improvements in her ground game and takedown defence.

After her Oct. 27 bout, Shields is scheduled to defend her undisputed middleweight boxing title against Slovenian Ema Kozin (21-0-1, 11 KOs) on Dec. 11 in Birmingham, England.
