ONE: NEXTGEN: Stamp Fairtex vs. Julie Mezabarba moved up to main event

Atomweight world Grand Prix semis featured

Former ONE atomweight Muay Thai and kickboxing champion Stamp Fairtex and opponent Julie Mezabarba are now the main event of ONE: NEXTGEN.

ONE Championship confirmed the change today, adding that the original main event of light heavyweight kickboxing champion Roman Kryklia and undefeated Japanese phenom Itsuki Hirata was pulled from their bouts due to medical issues.

Fairtex and Mezabarba will compete for the right to advance to the finals of the atomweight world Grand Prix. The winner of the Grand Prix will be granted a title shot vs. champion Angela Lee.

Anderson “Braddock” Silva will take Kryklia’s place to face Iraj Azizpour, while alternate Jenelyn Olsim will take Hirata’s place in the other atomweight world Grand Prix semi-final against India’s Ritu Phogat.

ONE: NEXTGEN is scheduled for Oct. 29 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
