Piccinino’s sequel, A California Christmas: City Lights, the sequel to his successful A California Christmas movie which he revealed with The Crossfire back in June, is set to premiere Dec. 16 on Netflix.

The movie is written by Lauren Swickard, who plays the lead character Callie with her real-life husband Josh Swickard, who plays Joseph, Callie’s husband. Amanda Detmer also stars, playing Wendy.

“I’m really excited to continue Callie and Joseph’s story and hope the audience likes it as much as we had fun making it,” Piccinino said to MMA Crossfire. “This time around, there’s even more humour and fun for the whole family.”

The movie follows the adventures of Callie and Joseph running their dairy farm and winery, but their relationship is threatened when business and family matters summon Joseph back to San Francisco.

A California Christmas: City Lights comes almost a year to the day A California Christmas was released (Dec. 14, 2020). The movie marks a busy year for Piccinino, who also helmed another sequel, the MMA action drama American Fighter, earlier this year. George Kosturos, the star of American Fighter appears, playing the character Liam.

A California Christmas: City Lights premieres Dec. 16 on Netflix.
