British lightweight Jake Hadley was curiously on the outside looking in at the UFC but now he makes his octagon in March against Francisco Figueiredo.
A year ago, Hadley (8-0-0), 25, was the Cage Warriors flyweight champion, and then in October missed weight while finishing Mitch Raposo on the Dana White Contenders series. It wasn’t unanimous, but Hadley’s performance swayed Dana White into signing him.
And now he has a chance to prove what he told The Crossfire in a TKO Countdown live interview last December.
“I can beat the top 15 right now,” Hadley told The Crossfire last December. “Right now. They could put me in with any of the guys. You think I’m cocky or something, you think this is a cocky guy, he doesn’t know what its all about, whatever. Well, put me in with something you think that can beat me then? No problem, I’ll fight anyone.
“I’m just hungry and I’m ready to go.”
Hadley will get his shot against Francisco Figueiredo (12-4-1, 1NC), 32, who has split his first two octagon bouts.
The event name and location are still to be determined by the UFC.
