The Kayla Harrison sweepstakes just got a bit more interesting, courtesy of UFC president Dana White.
In an interview with TSN, White revealed that he is in contract negotiations with PFL women’s lightweight champion and current free agent Kayla Harrison (11-0-0), 31.
Harrison was seen at Bellator’s 271 show in November, observing Bellator featherweight champion Cris Cyborg’s win over Sinead Kavanagh with president Scott Coker.
If White can close the deal, it could set up a matchup between Nunes (21-4-0), 33, considered the greatest female fighter of all time, who is the current UFC bantamweight and featherweight champion, and Harrison, who just won her second consecutive PFL title.
One question is whether Harrison would we willing to move down to 145 pounds to fight Nunes. She has done it before.
“She says she’s the best fighter in the world, there’s only one way to find out: Come over here and fight the GOAT,” White said. “You want to be the greatest of all time? Come fight the GOAT.”
