Shields tweeted earlier today that the new date is now Feb. 5. The postponement appears related to the British Boxing Board of Control’s to suspend boxing for the month of January due to the current COVID-19 Omicron variant surge in the country.

The original date was Dec. 11, which was then rescheduled for Jan. 29. The venue remains the same, the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff, Wales.
Shields (11-0-0, 2 KOs)Â suffered her first loss as a fighter, losing a MMA bout by split-decision to Abigail Montes at PFL 10 last October. She remains undefeated as a boxer, defeating Marie-Eve Diciare to become undisputed at light-middleweight last March.
Rizin (22-0-1, 11 KOs), 23, finished Radana Knezevic in her last bout in May 2021. She is unbeaten in 23 fights and a multiple champion in two different weight classes with the WIBA, WIBF, and the WBC.
The BBB is expected to review its decision closer to February.
