Volkanovski (23-1-0), 33, is coming off an impressive victory over Brian Ortega at UFC 266 last September. Holloway will be his third title defence. He is No. 2 on the UFC’s P4P list.
Many fans feel that Holloway (23-6-0), 30, won the second fight. “Blessed” has rebounded from the Volkanovski losses with impressive wins over Calvin Kattar and Yair RodrÃguez. He is the current No. 1 contender.
Also confirmed is bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling’s rematch with Petr Yan.
Sterling (20-3-0), 32, won the belt on a disqualification at UFC 259 last March after he couldn’t continue from an illegal knee from Yan. A rematch was scheduled in October, but Sterling pulled out with a neck injury. As you can see from his Instagram post, he is looking forward to the rematch.
Yan (16-2-0), 28, defeated Cory Sandhagen for the interim title in October at UFC 267. He is looking to unify the title in March.
