UFC 273: “Undisclosed injury” forces Kelvin Gastelum to withdraw

The injury bug has struck again, this time to Kelvin Gastelum and UFC 273.

Gastelum (16-8-0), 30, and his withdrawal means his opponent Drives du Plessis (16-2-0), who as appearing on short notice to replace Massouridne Imavov after initially scheduled to face Alexander Hernandez on the card, is now without a fight.

With only one win in his last six contests, it is understandable that Gastelum withdrew. He apologized to du Plessis and his team on Instagram.

UFC 273 is scheduled for April 9 at a location to be determined. Other scheduled bouts include:

(C) ALEXANDER VOLKANOVSKI (23-1-0) VS. #4 CHAN SUNG JUNG (16-7-0)
