UFC declines to extend Alex Oliveira’s contract

Welterweight Alex Oliveira’s UFC bubble has finally burst.

After a seven-year run that spanned 22 fights, Oliveira’s management confirmed to MMA Junkie that “Cowboy” (22-12-1, 1NC), 34, will be moving on.

Oliveira lost his last four UFC bouts, including three by submission or TKO. Still, he was popular with fans for his exciting and aggressive cowboy style.

Oliveira is scheduled to compete against former UFC colleague Demian Maia  in a Brazilian BJJ No-Gi tourney on April 30.
