UFC 275: Teixeira vs. Prochazka predictions

UFC 275 is set to go in Singapore, with light heavyweight champion Glover Teixeira and challenger Jiri Prochazka making weight, but still we lost one key main card bout today.

The Rogerio Bontorin vs. Manel Kape fight was canceled when Bontorin suffered some weight cut issues related to his kidneys that rendered him unable to compete. That means UFC 275 will move forward with 11 matches.

Kenai Andrews checks in with his thoughts on the card.

UFC 275 FIGHT PASS PRELIMS (7PM ET/4PM PT)

RAMONA PASCUAL (6-3-0) VS. JOSLEYNE EDWARDS (10-4-0)

Andrews: Both up and coming fighters but Edwards is seven years younger than Pascual. Edwards also needs a win after losing two straight. I think she comes out motivated and edges out Pascual.

Andrews Prediction: Josleyne Edwards via UD

NA LIANG (17-5-0) VS. SILVANA GOMEZ (10-4-0)

Andrews: Both of these fighters need a win but while Liang’s record looks good on paper, she has struggled against Bellator and UFC competition. So despite a to fight losing skid, I have to go with Gomez to get the finish.

Andrews Prediction: Silvana Gomez via TKO

UFC 275 PRELIMS (8PM ET/5PM PT)

KYUNG HO KANG (17-9-0, 1NC) VS. DANAA BATGEREL (12-3-0)

Andrews: King likes to get the submission on the ground, while Danaa is coming in on short notice and has not been tapped yet. The advantage is on paper goes to Kang, but I think Batgerel pulls this one off.

Andrews Prediction: Danaa Batgerel via UD

BRENDAN ALLEN (18-5-0) VS.ย JACOB MALKOUN (6-1-0)

Andrews: Allen has the experience advantage and likes to get the submission. Malkoun is a solid fighter but probably gets dragged to the ground for the choke.

Andrews Prediction: Brendan Allen via submissionย

MAHESHATE HAYISAER (6-1-0) VS. STEVE GARCIA (12-4-0)

Andrews: Close fight on paper. Hayisaer is a solid fighter coming off the DWCS. Garcia has split his first two octagon bouts. I would normally lean towards Garcia but I think Hayisaer in Singapore will be motivated to put in a good performance and get the win.

Andrews Prediction: Maheshate Hayisaer via UD

SEUNG WOO CHOI (10-4-0) VS. JOSHUA CULIBAO (9-1-1)

Andrews: Close fight on paper. Choi has the better experience but I wouldn’t be shocked if Culibao won. Both fighters are on the fence record wise in the UFC, but I will go with Culibao to eke out the decision.

Andrews Prediction: Joshua Culibao via UD

MAIN CARD (10PM ET/7PM PT)

JACK DELLA MADDALENA (11-2-0) VS. RAMAZAN EMEEV (20-5-0)

Andrews: Can Maddalena keep the fight standing to utilize his striking? He is 10 years younger than Emeev, who will want to use grappling. I think Emeev gets the control before Maddalena can knock him out.

Andrews Prediction: Ramazan Emeev via UD

JAKE MATTHEWS (17-5-0) VS. ANDRE FIALHO (16-4-0, 1NC)

Andrews: Jake Matthews was tapped by Brady in his last fight and Fialho will be coming for the knockout. But when the dust clears, Matthews gets the win.

Andrews Prediction: Jake Matthews via UD

ZHANG WEILI (21-3-0) VS. JOANNA JEDRZEJCZYK (16-4-0)

Andrews: Should be another great battle. Weili barely won the first one and I think this time, JJ makes the necessary adjustments to get the finish.

Andrews Prediction: Joannaย Jฤ™drzejczyk via TKO

(C) VALENTINA SHEVCHENKO (22-3-0) VS. #4 TALIA SANTOS (19-1-0)

Andrews: I like Santos and she will do better than anyone thought she would. But eventually Shevchenko gets her out of there.

Andrews Prediction: Valentina Shevchenko via submission

MAIN EVENT

(C) GLOVER TEIXEIRA (33-7-0) VS. #2 JIRI PROCHAZKA (28-3-1)

Andrews: After some early trouble, Glover shocks the world and gets the tap late. He hurts Prochazka, takes him to the ground and then gets the choke.

Andrews Prediction: Glover Teixeira via submission
