UFC on ESPN 37: Kattar vs. Emmett predictions

Calvin Kattar and Josh Emmett Β both made weight to make tonight’s UFC on ESPN 37 main event official.

One fighter missed weight and that was Tony Kelly, who came in 1.5 pounds over the bantamweight limit. He will forfeit a percentage of his purse to his opponent Adrian Yanez in the featured preliminary bout.

Kenai Andrews checks in with his thoughts on the main card, but first a word from Dana White.

MAIN CARD (7PM ET/4PM PT)

JULIAN MARQUEZ (9-2-0) VS. GREGORY RODRIGUES (11-4-0)Β

Andrews: Tough one to call. Marquez is a finisher but Rodrigues was robbed in his last fight and will want to leave no doubt this time but is fighting on short notice. I am going with Gregory to eke this one out.

Andrews Prediction: Gregory Rodrigues via UD

DAMIR ISMAGULOV (20-1-0) VS. GURAM KUTATELADZE (12-2-0)

Andrews: Ismagulov has the octagon experience here. Guram hasn’t lost since 2015 but his UFC debut was shaky and barely got the split decision. Damir gets the nod.

Andrews Prediction: Damir Ismagulov via UD

JOAQUIN BUCKLEY (14-4-0) VS. ALBERT DURAEV (15-3-0)

Andrews: If Buckley can avoid the ground and the big shot, he can win. Duraev is a big threat on the ground but I think Buckley has a plan to see him through.

Andrews Prediction: Joaquin Buckley via UD

TIM MEANS (32-12-1, 1NC) VS. KEVIN HOLLAND (22-7-0, 1NC)

Andrews: Means is 38 years old. Holland is 29. Bit of a gap there. Holland gets the finish.

Andrews Prediction: Kevin Holland via TKO

MAIN EVENTΒ

#4 CALVIN KATTAR (23-5-0) VS. #7 JOSH EMMETT (17-2-0)

Andrews: Kattar nullifies Emmett’s power with striking pressure and the grind.

Andrews Prediction: Calvin Kattar via UD

Enjoy the fights.
