Antonio Silva suffered another TKO loss Friday and someone may need to step in to save him from himself at this point.
After a brutal knockout via Oleg Popov at MMA Series 53 in Moscow, it was Vyacheslav Datsik’s turn to get the victory from Silva with a standing TKO in the second round.

It didn’t take long for Silva, a former UFC title contender years ago, to taste the canvas after he was knocked down late in the first round with a questionable punch after the bell. But then in the second, Datsik cornered Silva and pounded away. After more than a dozen unanswered punches, the referee moved in to stop the fight.
Silva’s record is now 1-13-0, in his last fourteen bouts, 12 of those by TKO.
For those wondering how Silva was able to obtain a boxing license given his recent string of TKO defeats, no answers are currently forthcoming. We’ll have to see if a boxing commission does the right thing in Silva’s next application.
