Ryan Garcia eyes Gervonta “Tank” Davis after dispatching Javier Fortuna

Ryan Garcia’s next stop towards championship greatness could go through Gervonta Davis.

Garcia (23-0-0, 19 KOs), 23, knocked Fortuna (37-4-1, 2NC, 26 KOs), 33, down in the fourth, fifth, and sixth rounds before a nifty left hook combo that sent Fortuna take a knee for the final time.

The finish helped restore some credibility to Garcia, whose chatter with Devin Haney, Manny Pacquiao and Davis failed to produce a single fight.

In the post-fight interview, Garcia said he’s going to fight Davis. If accurate, that would be Garcia’s biggest fight to date and would immediately leapfrog him to champion status.

As usual, politics must be set aside for the fight to happen. Garcia and DAZN must get together with Davis and Showtime to figure out the details.

Let’s see what happens.
